Troll Them Out! - Tower Defense Game

Role: Designer.

Team Size: 4 people.

Duration: About 5 months.

Time Frame: October 2015 - Februrary 2016.

Platform: PC.

Software: Unity 5.

Game theme: Medieval, Humans, Orcs and Magic.

Description:

Troll The Out!, is a Tower Defense game that I and 3 other group mates created for our second game project in Year 2 DGDD.

Story:

Follow Izen and his friends as they attempt to stop the Troll King from rampaging the world! Along the way, our Heroes meet new friends and tougher enemies. However, nothing will stop them from reaching their goal! To defeat the Troll King! The unique mechanic of this game is that "Heroes" are now your "Towers" and you can teleport them around the battlefield!

"Troll Them Out!" Tower Defence Gameplay - Level 1

Mechanics/Gameplay:

Players have to strategicly set up places where the Heroes can teleport to. These Heroes have unique attack patterns, for example some are better in fighting big groups of enemies, while others are better at sniping their enemies from afar. Heroes also posses magic abilities that you can use at your disposal! Eliminate all the Trolls before they attack your Guild, but beware, as Trolls have skills as well that will catch you off guard! It's time to Troll Them Out!.

Background Information:

There are many other design content that are not shown here, like GUI wireframes, interface design documents, playtesting reports, as well as other game design documents. Class Upgrade system and balancing were difficult for this game as I have to ensure that the heroes and orcs are equally matched. Example, if a Hero was too powerful, an Orc would have some skills or better stats to counter the drawbacks. Likewise for Heroes.
